The newly opened Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam City West is one of Europe’s largest conference hotels.

The Rezidor Hotel Group has just opened the new Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam City West. This conference hotel is a part of Ven Amsterdam, the first multiplex building of its kind in the Netherland’s largest city. It takes just 5 minutes to get to the city centre by train, and Amsterdam Schipol is just a 10 minute train ride away. The hotel has 476 rooms and suites, as well as parking for up to 200 vehicles. Features include a 680m² two-storey ballroom with separate conference foyer area. The ballroom can accommodate up to 750 seated guests in a theatre format, making it one of the largest-capacity conference hotels in Europe. Its 19 event spaces are linked to three conference foyer areas, and all come with state-of-the-art technical and media equipment.

Thomas Kreillechner and Peter Tolinger are now jointly steering operations at Verkehrsbüro Business Touristik.

Thomas Kreillechner has been appointed Managing Director of AX Travel Management GmbH alongside Peter Tolinger. Since October 2017, Mr Kreillechner has been head of the Operations division of Verkehrsbüro Business Touristik. He and Peter Tolinger have also taken over as managing directors of Verkehrsbüro Business Travel GmbH, following Gerhard Aigner’s move to become Managing Director at Austria Trend Hotels. Thomas Kreillechner and Peter Tolinger will run the business travel arm of Verkehrsbüro Business Touristik, concentrating on operational development, with a focus on digitalisation.

Helmut Richter will remain a managing director of both companies, in addition to his role as managing board member responsible for this area of the business.

You made your bed, now sleep in it: Lufthansa launches its new Dream Collection in business class.

A new pillow case, a big, warm duvet and above all a comfy mattress topper are set to guarantee sweet dreams. Passengers on overnight flights will also have the new nightshirt from Van Laack to keep them cosy. Business class passengers will be treated to these extras on long-haul flights of 10.5 hours or longer, on routes to and from South Africa, Central and South America, and the USA’s west coast. The soft, padded mattress topper is 100% cotton on the upper surface, and has a slip-free, terrycloth underside. The new duvet and pillow are similarly soft, ensuring comfort and heat dissipation. Plastic packaging has been avoided completely – the duvet is simply wrapped in a paper sleeve. The Dream Collection will be gradually introduced on all long-haul routes.

CO₂-free charging for a clean start – more than 50 Best Western Hotels in Germany aboard the e-mobility train.

More than 20% of the 230 or so hotels belonging to the Best Western Hotels Central Europe chain are already actively supporting e-mobility with their own e-charging stations, and a further 40 are within a kilometre of one. This enables guests to conveniently charge their vehicles during their stay. A number of charging stations in locations such as Hanau, Freiburg and Münster have special Tesla superchargers. The hotels are listed in the Tesla navigation system making them visible for all drivers, depending on the route taken.
