Austria Trend takes over new hotel near Schönbrunn

Our colleagues at Austria Trend Hotels welcomed the “Courtyard by Marriott Vienna Schoenbrunn” to the fold at the beginning of December.

The 4* city hotel near the most popular tourist sight in Vienna, at the Schönbrunner Schlossstraße 38-40, offers 118 rooms, four modern meeting and conference rooms and the in-house restaurant La Corte. With the new hotel as well as the Parkhotel Schönbrunn and the Park Royal Palace Vienna, Austria’s largest hotel group is even better positioned around the tourist hotspot of Schönbrunn and is strengthening its core market of Vienna. By the end of 2018 the hotel will retain its original name “Courtyard by Marriott Vienna Schoenbrunn”.

TAP Air Portugal offers special conditions for SMEs

The Portuguese Star Alliance member is specifically targeting business travelers, especially small and medium-sized companies, with its “TAP Corporate” frequent flyer program: Part of the ticket price will be credited to a central company account. This credit can then be used to book additional flights with TAP Air Portugal or for additional services such as extra baggage, use of Fast Track at the airport, lounge access or seat reservations. For travel in the Discount product class, the credit is one per cent of the ticket price, two per cent in “Basic” and “Classic” and three per cent in the “Executive” and “Top Executive” product categories. New Best Western Premier Collection Hotel in Böblingen

New US long-haul routes for British Airways

British Airways is extending its US connections and flying to New Orleans, Oakland and Ford Lauderdale.

They will now fly to the Louisiana city of New Orleans four times per week from London Heathrow Terminal 5. Passengers will arrive relaxed on a Boeing B-787 Dreamliner.
Oakland in California has also been added to the route network. The city is located on the other side of San Francisco Bay and is served by a Boeing B-777 from London Gatwick all year round.

Experience the sun in Fort Lauderdale: British Airways is heading for the popular tourist city on the southeast coast of Florida. A Boeing B-777 will be used on this route.

Austrian to boost flights from Austria to Germany

From October 29, Austrian (Airlines) will offer a total of 49 extra flights in this year’s Winter timetable. The new Austrian Airlines Winter timetable starts on 10/29/2017, offering a total of 49 extra flights from Austria per week compared to last Winter. They will fly up to 14 times more to Berlin, flights to Düsseldorf were increased by 11 extra flights and there will be another seven direct flights from Vienna to Frankfurt. In total, from 10/29/2017 Austrian will be offering up to 342 flights per week between Austria and Germany, up to 119 of which will be from the various federal states of Austria and 223 will be from Austrian’s “home airport” in Vienna. There will also be 17 extra flights this Winter from Vienna direct to Zurich.

Thai Airways increases capacity for Vienna-Bangkok

Capacity has been increased in advance of the first of the four weekly Thai Airways non-stop flights from Vienna to Bangkok taking off on November 16. Instead of using the Boeing 777-200ER as originally intended, they are now using a Boeing 777-300ER. This aircraft has 42 spaces in Royal Silk Business Class and 306 seats in Economy Class. Every Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from November 16, Thai Airways will depart from Vienna at 13:30 and land in Bangkok at 05:20 the next morning. The return flight departs at 01:30 and reaches Vienna – also non-stop – at 07:00 in the morning. With convenient connections at the Bangkok hub, passengers can easily transfer onto the Thai Airways route network to destinations within Thailand as well as in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

New joint Transatlantic alliance

British Airways (including OpenSkies), American Airlines, Finnair and Iberia have joined forced on flights across the Atlantic. This means they provide passengers with a global route network with more routes, better connections and better prices. Customers traveling from Austria benefit from feeder services with British Airways but also with Iberia via Madrid. A new addition to the British airline’s timetable: New Orleans. They will now fly to the Louisiana city four times per week from London Heathrow Terminal 5. This is the first non-stop flight by a European airline from Europe to the famous city of jazz.

EVA AIR will fly direct to Taipei from March 2018

EVA AIR is increasing its flight frequencies and next year will commence three direct flights between Vienna and Taipei. The existing four weekly flights from Vienna via Bangkok to Taipei will remain unchanged. This means the private Taiwanese airline will be able to offer a daily connection from Vienna from March 10. The new non-stop flights from Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) will depart every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 23:30 and will land at Vienna Schwechat (VIE) at 06:35 the following day. The return flight, with flight number BR66, will leave Vienna every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday at 12:25 and land in Taipei at 07:15 on the following day. EVA AIR will continue to serve the route with a modern Boeing 777-300ER in a three-class configuration with Economy, Elite and Royal Laurel Class.

Non-stop to Tallinn with Nordica

Nordica was established in September 2015 and is 100% under Estonian state ownership. It shares a booking platform as part of a close partnership with LOT Polish Airlines (tickets are issued with “LO” flight numbers). NORDICA passengers are therefore able to earn and redeem miles as part of the “Miles&More” air miles program. They fly on a modern fleet comprising aircraft of the CRJ 900 and CRJ 700 types. All prices include a full 23 kg of checked baggage. Check-in is handled at the relevant Star Alliance terminal – in Vienna with Austrian Airlines and in Munich with Lufthansa.
