New British Airways route from Vienna to London Gatwick

British Airways is planning to integrate the route London Gatwick (LGW) to Vienna (VIE) in its flight plan as of September 2015. This new connection offers passengers an even more comfortable connection to the heart of London. With the summer flight schedule, this connections will be operating 6 times per week (except Saturday) and in winter only 4 times per week.

Fly faster from Vienna to Sao Paulo with TAP Portugal

TAP Portugal offers passengers faster and more comfortable flights from Vienna to Sao Paulo. So far, this route has been offered 4 times per week with a stop in Lisbon. Since end of March it operates 6 times per week from Vienna via Lisbon to Sao Paulo Guarulhos (GRU) – with a total travel time of approximately 15 hours. The airport Sao Paulo Viracopos (VCP) can also be reached from Lisbon. In total, 14 connections are offered per week between the Portuguese capital and the Brazilian Metropolis. In the ‘’tap executive’’ class offered by Tap Portugal, demanding passengers can enjoy a lot of comfort and quality.  The long haul fleet planes Airbus A330 and A340 are all equipped with comfortable ‘Lie-Flat’ seats.

Finnair flies more frequently from Vienna to Helsinki

Finnair will continue to increase its number of flights from Vienna to Helsinki this summer and will offer two additional connections between Vienna and Helsinki in the period between the 25th of June and 13th of August 2015. In addition to the 2 daily connections, departure from Vienna at 11:15 and 19:15, Finnair will also fly every Tuesday and Thursday at 13:25 from Vienna to Helsinki. The return flight from Helsinki airport operates daily at 08:15 and 17:00 and additionally this summer every Tuesday and Thursday at 09:50. The flight time between Vienna and Helsinki is around 2:30 hours. The additional connection to/from Vienna offers optimal transfer connections especially to Beijing, Chongqing, Seoul and Delhi.

Ethiopian Airlines opts for Dreamliner

Starting May 2015, Ethiopian Airlines will fly with the most modern airplane, the Dreamliner Boeing 787, from Vienna to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. This route will be operated non-stop every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and offers passengers many transfer possibilities within Africa. The Dreamliner Boeing 787-8 requires 20 percent less fuel compared to similar models and is as fast as the modern large capacity aircrafts. Increased humidity and modern lighting serve for more comfort and wellbeing.

Emirates further extends WLAN on board

Emirates offers, as of now, free of charge WLAN (up to 10 MB data usage) on board of 106 selected planes – this corresponds to almost half of the entire Emirates fleet including all A380 machines. Up to 3 jets will be additionally equipped every month. If more than 10 MB data usage are needed, passengers can buy 500 MB data usage for USD 1,00.

Air France flies from Paris to Vancouver

Air France started its new non-stop service between Paris-Charles De Gaulle and Vancouver. In addition to Montreal and Toronto in the East of Canada, Air France now offers West Canada as well. Until the 5th of May 2015, flights will operate every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday; from the 4th of May until the 13th of September 2015, Air France will additionally fly every Monday and Sunday. From the 14th of September until the 24th of October 2015, flights will operate Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The Boeing 777-200, equipped with 309 seats, of which 35 are in the business class, 24 in the premium economy and 250 in the economy class, will be deployed.

Melia Hotels open new hotel in Paris La Defense

As part of an extensive modernisation programme for Paris La Defense, the first new hotel building in Europe’s largest business area since many years has now been opened. The design of the Melia Paris La Defense takes the shape of a ship’s bow and offers an amazing view of the city from the upper floors, including the ‘’Skyline Paris Lounge and Bar’’ in the 19th floor. Melia Paris La Defense offers 369 rooms, including 29 suites, with ceiling high windows. The guests are also offered the VIP-Service ‘’The Level’: separate lounge with drinks and snacks, private check-in and personal concierge. For business and MICE travellers, the new Paris hotel offers eight modularly combined function rooms with more than 850 square meters of conference area and an occupancy of up to 400 people.

Austrian has a new tariff concept as of Autumn 2015

Starting autumn 2015, Austrian will implement a new tariff concept for flights in Europe and within Austria.  The former Economy-Class will be sub-divided into 3 tariff categories – ‘Light’ (cheaper than the existing ‘red ticket’ tariff), ‘Classic’ and ‘Flex’. As already the norm with other airlines, tariffs will be calculated according to different parameters such as luggage allowance, board service, selection of seats or re-booking possibilities. The business class will remain unchanged. Austrian Airlines will implement the new tariff concept together with Lufthansa and Swiss and thereby equalize the different inner European price systems. Details about the new tariff system shall be published in Summer and will be available for booking as of then.

New One-Way-Tariff by Airberlin

Airberlin has been offering its individual tariff concept ‘FlyDeal’, ‘FlyClassic’ and ‘FlyFlexx’ for some time now. As of the 5th of May, a new tariff the ‘JustFly’ will be added for one-way routes with no hand luggage (starting € 44,00). Additional services can be booked to the ‘JustFly’ tariff.  The ‘FlyFlex+’ tariff offers additional services to business class travellers, including access to lounges and exclusive waiting areas.
