Turkish Airlines and Eva Air fly together to Taipei

Turkish Airlines and Eva Air have been managing a new code-share partnership on the route between Taipei and Istanbul since the beginning of July. For the time being, flights that are currently being operated by Turkish Airlines receive a flight code von Eva Air. Starting 2016, Eva Air will also run flights on the same route, which will then receive a Turkish Airlines flight code. Passengers thus benefit from the extended and flexible flight connections between the two countries.

Opening of the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Dubai

Austrian increases the Linz-Vienna frequencies

Austrian Airlines strengthens, once again, the connection Linz-Vienna. Passengers have the option to travel with AlRail directly from Hauptbahnhof Linz to Vienna airport; for flights booked on Austrian Airlines until the end of June 2015, passengers receive a free 2 way ticket with AlRail.* The flight connection itself will also be offered more frequently – starting June 2015, 4 afternoon flights will be added to the existing 6 connections per week as well as 7 daily AlRail connections. *This offer is valid for all Austrian flights until December 13th 2015 and is bookable through your AX Travel Management booking agents/team.

The new “daring” tariffs from airberlin are now available

The new airberlin tariff structure under the motto ‘daring & sexy’ is now kicked off. Especially price- sensitive passengers, travelling with hand luggage only, benefit from the cheap ‘Justfly’ tariff now bookable on selected routes.  Passengers who don’t want to or can’t travel with hand luggage only, can book the ‘FlyDeal’ tariff, which still includes a free baggage allowance of 23 KG. ‘FlyClassic’ additionally offers the cost free seat reservation service. Passengers who book ‘FlyFlex+’, enjoy further benefits including access to lounges and exclusive waiting areas prior to departure, priority check-in and faster passage through security. Rebooking and cancellation are free of charge with this tariff, which is specifically interesting for business travellers.

Finnair introduces the new LIGHT Tariff

Finnair, also introduces a new cheap tariff ‘Light’, targeting passengers flying with hand luggage only. ‘Light’ has already been introduced starting the 17th of March for Finnair flights between Finland, Scandinavia and the Baltic states and is now, as of May, also available for flights to and from Europe and the Middle East (with exception of Russia). ‘Light’ tickets are not changeable and non-refundable. In case of luggage check-in, this can be done at a cheaper price at the time of reservation than at the airport.

More frequent flights to Doha with Qatar Airways and shuttle service to Dubai

In addition to the daily connections between Vienna and Doha, Qatar Airways will offer the route twice daily on Wednesday and Friday during the months of July and August, herewith increasing the weekly frequency to 9 flights between Vienna and Doha.  There is also a new shuttle service for the 18 daily connections between Doha and Dubai – to and from Dubai International Airport, respectively Dubai World Central Airports. Passengers benefit from personal check-in counters, specifically shortened immigration procedures in Doha. Members of the frequent flyer programme ‘Privilege Club’ receive double the ‘Qmiles’ when they use the Shuttle Service until the 31st of July 2015.

Easypass shall fasten border control at German airports

‘Easypass’ the automated border control is already operative at some German airports including Frankfurt or Munich. Passengers place their E-Pass or personal ID on the document reader which extracts the electronic data from the travel document and runs an authenticity test. Afterwards a gate is entered, where a biometric face comparison with the passport photo is conducted. Given the data is correct, border crossing is permitted and the passage doors open. The same procedure applies later on with the immigration. EasyPASS is accessible to all EU and EEA state members as well as Swiss citizens that are crossing the Schengen borders.

With Korean Air five times per week from Vienna to Seoul

Korean Air increases its connections between Vienna and Seoul-International starting the 4th of June. The route will be served 4 times per week and starting the 6th of July 5 times per week. The additional rotation will always take place on Thursdays. Korean Air will serve the route Vienna – Seoul non-stop on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday and starting the 6th of July on Monday as well according to the following schedule:

Vienna-Seoul/Incheon 18:40-11:50 (+1) / Seoul/Incheon – Vienna 12:50-17:10

The departure time for the new Thursday flight stating the 4th of June:

Vienna-Seoul/Incheon 21:35 – 15:20 (+1) /Seoul/Incheon – Vienna 14:20- 19:45
