Lufthansa premium economy now also from Munich

The new Lufthansa class can, in addition to Frankfurt, now also be booked for flights departing from Munich. Tokio/Haneda, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Seoul are the first destinations that will be equipped with the premium economy class. Additional destinations departing from Munich will follow in summer. The offer includes notedly more space, comfort and many more amenities and can be booked for an approximate surcharge of EUR 600,00 for a round trip on North -Atlantic routes.

Car rental Sixt expands in USA

Sixt is already operating in the USA since 2011 with 50 rental stations.  There will be expansions this year, especially at airports and city centres as for example the airports of Detroit, Dallas, Philadelphia and Boston. There will also be growth in South America. To the already existing stations in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Peru, Sixt has also opened a car rental office in Paraguay for the first time.

With NIKI from Vienna to Bratislava

Starting the first of April 2015, NIKI wants to launch the world shortest flight between 2 countries, in 20 minutes from Vienna to Bratislava. The two airports are 47 Kilometres apart; by car one needs approximately one hour for this route.  A flight altitude of only 1.500 above sea level will allow passengers a good view of the Danube.

Aegean Airlines increases connections to Austria

Aegean Airlines – a member of Star Alliance – increased its summer schedule with additional routes to Vienna adding 34 destinations within Greece and 100 international destinations in 42 countries. Starting the 29th of March 2015, a daily connection from Vienna to Athens will be launched: departure in Vienna at 11:00 a.m. and arrival in Athens at 14:15 p.m. and the return flight Athens-Vienna from 08:55 till 10:15. Furthermore, new flights to holiday destinations will be operated; direct flights from Vienna to Rhodos will be operated twice a week nonstop as well as Heraklion with 3 flights per week.  Additional Greek islands as Naxos or Paros could be, thanks to the Olympic Air handover, better integrated in the flight plan. Aegean Airlines is not only investing in a new international air network including a focus on destinations in the Middle East, North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, but also in a modern and young fleet by purschasing A320 machines.

The transfer of LH routes to Germanwings has been completed

With the beginning of the year, the route Düsseldorf –Zürich has been transferred from Lufthansa to Germanwings, bringing the total number of transferred routes from LH to Germanwings to 115 routes and implying that one of Lufthansa’s largest structural projects has been completed on time.

Air France – First Flight with the new ‘Designer Suites’

The new ‘La Premiere-Cabin’ was officially opened for flights from Paris CDG to Singapore and Jakarta. Passengers can enjoy an almost complete private space on those ‘Designer Suites’. Each suite is furnished with thick curtains and a complete flat bed with mattress. Each passenger has access to a personal 24-inch-HD Touchscreen inspired by the Tablet-Navigation and available in 12 languages. During the whole winter season, all daily flights to Singapore and Jakarta are equipped with the new Air France cabins. Throughout the year, the new ‘La Premiere-cabins’ will be launched on routes to New York, Dubai, Libreville and Yaoundé.
