New visa for Canada – don’t get ripped off

From November 9, 2016, Austrians will need to apply for an electronic travel authorization to enter Canada. You are advised to watch out for suspicious online suppliers!

From November 9, 2016, all passengers entering Canada by air must hold an electronic travel authorization. The fee for this is seven Canadian dollars (approx. €4.80). We ask that you request this from the official Canadian government website only. Unfortunately, the internet is full of alternative suppliers claiming that they can issue this travel authorization. Some of them charge consumers substantially elevated prices for it.
