No free seat reservation at Lufthansa and Austrian

In future, all Economy Class guests must pay for a seat reservation on long-distance flights of Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines. This applies for tickets issued from 21 March 2017. From this date, a fee of EUR 25 is charged for a seat, passengers with feeder or continuing flights pay an additional EUR 10. For European flights, reservation remains chargeable only for tickets at the Light tariff. At SWISS, seat reservations are already subject to a charge in all Economy booking classes and for all long-distance flights. The selection of a seat while checking in online or via web (23 hours before departure) remains free of charge – irrespective of the booked tariff. Group passengers as well as HON Circle members and Senators do not have to pay for seat reservations in Economy Class on Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa und SWISS intercontinental flights.
