Condor winter highlights 2018/2019

More sunny destinations than you can count: Condor adds new short-, mid- and long-haul destinations for winter 2018/19.

230 flights a week from seven different airports in Germany – Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Leipzig/Halle, Munich and Stuttgart – make jetting off to the sun easier than ever before. Passengers travelling from Austria benefit from ideal connecting flights (with just one transfer) with partner airlines Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa. Condor has expanded its long-haul offering from Munich, for example, adding Cancun in Mexico, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and the Cuban capital Havana as new destinations. Kuala Lumpur is now served by flights from Frankfurt thanks to a cooperation with Malaysia Airlines. You made your bed, now sleep in it: Lufthansa launches its new Dream Collection in business class.

A new pillow case, a big, warm duvet and above all a comfy mattress topper are set to guarantee sweet dreams. Passengers on overnight flights will also have the new nightshirt from Van Laack to keep them cosy. Business class passengers will be treated to these extras on long-haul flights of 10.5 hours or longer, on routes to and from South Africa, Central and South America, and the USA’s west coast. The soft, padded mattress topper is 100% cotton on the upper surface, and has a slip-free, terrycloth underside. The new duvet and pillow are similarly soft, ensuring comfort and heat dissipation. Plastic packaging has been avoided completely – the duvet is simply wrapped in a paper sleeve. The Dream Collection will be gradually introduced on all long-haul routes.

Best Western Hotels e-charging stations in Germany

CO2-free charging for a clean start – more than 50 Best Western Hotels in Germany aboard the e-mobility train.

More than 20% of the 230 or so hotels belonging to the Best Western Hotels Central Europe chain are already actively supporting e-mobility with their own e-charging stations, and a further 40 are within a kilometre of one. This enables guests to conveniently charge their vehicles during their stay. A number of charging stations in locations such as Hanau, Freiburg and Münster have special Tesla superchargers. The hotels are listed in the Tesla navigation system making them visible for all drivers, depending on the route taken.

Austrian Airlines: Unlimited internet on arrival

Passengers can now lease a mobile WiFi Hotspot to secure unlimited internet access upon arrival at their destination while still on board the plane.

Austrian has linked up with Viennese start up FLINK as service provider. The FLINK Mobile WiFi Hotspot services are available to purchase via on-board duty free sales on long-haul routes and on all short-haul and medium-haul flights bound for destinations outside the EU. The EUR 29 fee includes three 24 hour passes. Travellers can continue using their own devices as normal while enjoying fast, unlimited 4G and LTE access in more than 100 countries worldwide. Lufthansa Group introduces new outsize luggage rules

Lufthansa and its subsidiaries Swiss and Austrian are introducing zonal pricing for excess, special and bulky luggage, with rates set to increase on intercontinental flights.

Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian are changing their conditions for excess and sports baggage. The new regulations are in place for all flights booked on or after 18 April 2018. Prices range from EUR 40-550 depending on size, weight and travel zone (6 new zones have been introduced in all). Until now the only distinction was between European and intercontinental flights. Costs on shorter routes such as domestic flights are set to drop as a result. There are six new zones, with Zone 1 designating domestic connections. A separate tariff list is in place for Japan.
