Companies missing out on significant potential savings on business travel

A recent study by Österreichischer Reise Verband (ÖRV) – the Austrian travel agents’ association – analysed process costs for business travel bookings and potential savings.

Although the option of booking flights online has opened up new opportunities, organising business travel is becoming more and more complex, with opaque airline tariffs, hidden additional costs, changes to flight times and route networks, and so on. Companies that delegate organisation of business travel to their own staff often pay much more for flights, the ÖRV warns. But companies that commission professionals at a business travel agency to handle bookings can save thousands of euros each year.
